NFI smashes its United Way goal; setting a new record for its employee community giving in North America

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada – November 21, 2019: (TSX: NFI) NFI Group Inc. (“NFI”), one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it set a new record for its annual United Way Workplace Campaign giving, with $462,757 raised. The total raised surpasses its goal of $429,000 and exceeds its 2018 campaign by 9%, establishing a new North American best for NFI’s employee investment in their communities.

This year’s campaign was led and championed by employees. In total, NFI’s annual United Way Workplace Campaign giving from employees and the company has topped $2.5 million since 2009. This year, NFI Group and its subsidiaries New Flyer, MCI, ARBOC, NFI Parts, Carfair Composites, and KMG participated through individual, team challenge, and event-based giving.

“We’ve defined our ‘why’ or company purpose to move people – and we achieve this by designing, building, delivering and supporting buses and coaches that move millions of people around the world every day to reach their destinations safely, but more importantly, by coming together as a team and supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Paul Soubry, President and Chief Executive Officer, NFI. “As our company has grown, our support of United Way has only grown stronger with new records set each year. This year, we are also proud to have improved our employee participation rate, with three out of every four people participating. This sends a strong message of care – we want to do better, be better, and lift our communities when and where they need it most. They’re counting on us.”
